Iain Banks seems like a nice chap

and Beverley was much more middle class than I had thought previously. Shame it was dark so we couldn't have a proper look round.

Fran and I were the youngest people there by a fair way - nothing new for us however. He read from his new novel "Transition", which confused me a bit, but sounds an interesting premise. My 'to read' pile is huge at the moment though, so I won't be buying it just yet.

I got my copy of "The Crow Road" signed... I got a bit tongue tied when it came time to actually speak to the illustrious author himself so didn't make any witty remarks or blindingly intelligent comments. Not that you would expect that from me anyway.
