The theme this week at Passion for Promarkers is 'Make your own embellishments'. I thought it sounded like a good chance to use my Petals die from Marianne Design to make some lovely 3D roses... five evenings later I'm not so sure! I've made a large number of flowers, in various colours by various methods, and I'm not that happy with any of them - not even the ones I actually stuck on a card on Friday (that card is now in the 'to be improved' pile).
In the end I gave up on the paper and got out some felt and I'm so glad I did! I cut spirals out of it, wrapped them up and voila - two-minute flowers!
I coloured Tilda with Cake using the following Promarkers: Satin, Blush, Dusky Pink, Pale Pink, Tan, Primrose, Vanilla, Pastel Yellow, Mustard, Turquoise, Aegean, Dusky Rose, Antique Pink, Cinnamon, Henna, Tea Green, and Cool Greys 1&5. The papers are from My Mind's Eye 'Bloom & Grow' and the sentiment is a Paula Pascual one (of course)! As I already mentioned the flowers are felt, and the leaves are cut from an old moth-eathen jumper I've been slowly recycling for a while now.
It's a beautiful day here again and I'm even drying my laundry outside - one of my favourite things about summer is not having damp clothes hanging all over the house! I'm off to find somewhere sunny to sit and re-read my 'Craft Stamper' magazine. Thanks for visiting and any comments you might want to leave! x
