It's January, so I've made some thankyou cards - mostly because I need them, but also as an excuse to play with my die-cutter! I've wanted one for ages and Ed finally gave in and got me a Big Shot for Christmas. I found all the cracking noises rather alarming at first but I'm used to it now - until I snap a plate or something I expect! Actually the most difficult thing about it was getting it out of the box in the first place, it took a good 40 minutes and I blunted a new pair of scissors!
This card is out of a magazine (with which the patterned paper was free) & I made it because they'd used the exact same embossing folder I'd just bought. It's not like me not to leave a little white border round the edge but that wouldn't have really worked with this one! The flowers have glitter in the centres but you can't see it in the photo, you can't really see the button on the big flower either but I promise you it's there.
On this one I used my lovely embossing folder again and also my Nestabilities which are my absolute favourite thing at the moment. The paper is from a lovely pack Ed's mum gave me for Christmas and the stamp was free with Docrafts magazine - they always have excellent free gifts! I'm not happy with the lettering on this, I might have another go when my alphabet dies come. To be honest I might have gone a teeny bit mad buying dies, I've probably spent as much as the machine itself cost by now... not to mention the George Foreman grill and iPod dock I treated myself to. In fact I've bought so much I got another fraud alert on my card. That might not be a good sign.
